Directions:
From K-10 take the De Soto Lexington Street exit. Go north several miles and turn north on Ottawa Street. You will go through several stop signs and over two sets of railroad tracks. The road curves left and entrance to boat ramp is about 1/2 mile. The city of De Soto is developing this park so you will pass several entrances to the camping and picnic area.

From I-70 take the east Lawrence exit # 204 and follow U.S. 59 north one mile to the junction of U.S.24/40 (called Tee Pee Junction by the locals). Turn east on U.S. 24/40 and follow it approximately 3 miles to the junction of K-32. Turn east on K-32 and go approximately 14.5 miles to 158th St. and turn south (you may also take K-32 Hwy from Bonner Springs and proceed west to 158th St.). Take 158th St. 4 miles south through Lenape and veer to right and turn left on 166th St. or Wyandotte St. Head south on Wyandotte St. crossing railroad tracks and go 1.4 miles to De Soto Bridge over the Kaw River. You will be able to see the boat ramp from the bridge if you look to the west on the south bank approximately 1\2 mille up stream. Continue on Wyandotte St. and turn right on 83rd St. in the city of De Soto. Go through downtown past fire station and turn north on Ottawa St. You will cross two railroad tracks and the road will curve left. You will go past entrances to camping and picnic areas. Turn to boat ramp and parking lot is about 1/2 mile. Follow the sand/gravel road past small house and back to the parking lot and ramp.

Access Info:
Access is public and the City of De Soto continues to upgrade the park. Parking is plentiful. The ramp is 32 feet wide and accommodates two vehicles. Concrete is heavily grooved for traction and base of ramp extends out into the channel approximately 40 ft. Ramp is at a 12% .

Float Info:
The next public access is the Cedar Creek Access Park located 5.2 miles downstream at river mile 26.1. First access upstream is the Eudora Access at river mile 42.  If you plan to take out at the Cedar Creek access ramp be sure to review the instructions on entering Cedar Creek under float info on the Cedar Creek page.
