Outstanding Recreational Resource
Friends of the Kaw considers the Kansas (Kaw) River a 171-mile linear park to be enjoyed by families and outdoor enthusiasts. We continue to partner with river communities to develop boat access, river front parks and hiking and biking trails along the river for public use.

From member Lucy (Remple) McAllister:
"Our big news -- last week, my husband, Loring McAllister, our friend John McGrew and grandsons Ryan and Adam, took my father, Henry D. Remple, for a canoe ride. My dad, now 100 and a half, was thrilled to be in a canoe again! With all of us around to steady the canoe and him, he was able to step in and later, step out of the canoe -- old muscles remembered how to do it. Canoeing really is a life-time love."
